Associates

Associates are involved in the full range of the engagement team’s work. They are responsible for the delivery of individual workstreams within engagements, working alone or with others.

Associate - Banking and Investment Management

Suitable candidates will have the following attributes:

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant Banking and/or Investment Management valuation experience to demonstrate the ability to be a Associate
  • CFA or equivalent and quantitative relevant degree (economics or mathematics).  First Class honours or post grad degree
  • Be effective in communicating orally and in writing, including experience writing formal reports
  • Good project management skills and experience in managing people and individual work streams
  • Strong modelling financial skills and experience in designing, coding, and implementing pricing/valuation models

Associate - Quant

Suitable candidates will have the following attributes:

  • Education level in a numerate/scientific degree:   MSc at a minimum
  • Sufficient relevant professional experience to demonstrate the ability to be a Associate within our team(typically 2 to 3 years)
  • Certifications: having obtained (or partially completed) a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CQF, FRM, etc)
  • An excellent understanding of how to value/price financial instruments and their related derivatives, across asset classes (equity, fixed income, credit, commodities, foreign exchange, interest rates) as well as global financial market policies and regulations
  • Strong modelling financial skills and experience in designing, coding, and implementing pricing/valuation frameworks
  • Experience in mathematical analysis in languages/packages(e.g. R Studio, Mathematica or Matlab), knowledge of database systems and financial data providers (e.g. Bloomberg) and experience with valuation software (e.g. FinCAD, Superderivaties)
  • Communication skills – a strong ability to communicate ideas and results through reports, graphic illustrations and models

Senior Associate

Senior Associates are involved in the full range of the engagement team’s work and play a key role in managing the engagement. They are responsible for the supervision and delivery of individual work-streams within engagements.

Suitable candidates will have the following additional attributes to those of Associates:

  • 4 to 5 years of relevant valuation experience in financial services and/or the energy sector
  • An excellent track record of delivering projects directly to the director in charge of the engagement
  • Ability to coach and supervise junior team members
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing

Associate Director – Quant

Associate Directors are responsible for the delivery of the engagements and support the practice’s business development activities. They are responsible for ensuring that all quality review procedures are followed and a full audit of the model developed is conducted and signed off.

Suitable candidates will have the following attributes:

  • Education level in a numerate/scientific degree:   MSc at a minimum, PhD preferred;
  • Professional experience: 6 to 7 years professional experience in the field of derivatives
  • Superb modelling skills and experience in designing, coding in VBA, C and or C++, and implementing pricing/valuation frameworks
  • High attention to detail and managing teams, whilst delivering under tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Ability to deliver complete engagement reports to the engagement Director
  • Ability to interact with clients independently and develop business opportunities
  • Ability to write proposals with little supervision.

Senior Adviser

Senior Advisors will work within the Quantitative Finance team to provide a range of complex valuation advisory services specifically to attorneys, regulators, financial services and energy clients. Prior experience in the valuation/advisory team of large consulting/ accounting firms will be a requisite. Also, candidates with global work experience will have added advantage.

Suitable candidates will have the following additional attributes:

  • Master's degree in  Economics, Finance or Statistics; or an MBA
  • Minimum ten years of experience in performing dispute and advisory-related services including expert reports, preparing valuations related to businesses, especially in the financial services and energy sector
  • Experience in portfolio valuation of private equity/venture capital houses, infrastructure funds, valuation of financial institutions such as banks, investment managers and funds of funds.
  • Experience with valuation standards/requirements under IFRS and US GAAP as well as an understanding of the regulatory environment
  • Strong analytical skills and be able to explain their work and communicate their conclusions and findings clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Time management, organisation skills and ability to lead a number of  teams
  • Track record in business development as they need to contribute to the growth of the practice
  • Demonstrate a track record in writing thought leadership articles and manage marketing initiatives
