Frederick is an Associate Director at CEG Europe, and leads the Düsseldorf office. He has applied a wide range of economic and econometric analyses to cases in the telecommunications, consumer goods and financial services sectors, with a focus on economic damage estimations in the context of commercial litigation.

His experience includes numerous cartel damages cases including (Household Sugar, Polyurethane Foam, Auto Glass, Automotive Bearings, Variable Valve Timing Devices), mergers (BT/EE and Ziggo/Vodafone) and commercial litigation (08x Wholesale Termination Charges, E-Books, and the Libor test case). Most recently he has been extensively involved in a cartel damages case in the trucks industry.

Fred joined CEG from AlixPartners’ Competition Practice in London, where he was a Vice President and advised clients from a range of industries in matters involving antitrust, mergers, economic and financial regulation, litigation and business strategy. Prior to his consulting career, Fred was a PhD researcher at the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy, where he published on the optimal design of antitrust enforcement.

Frederick holds a PhD from the University of East Anglia, an M.Sc. (with distinction) in Competition and Regulation Economics from Maastricht University and a B.Sc. in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Passau.

Fred is fluent in English and German.
