Johnathan Wongsosaputro


Johnathan is a Senior Economist at CEG Asia Pacific, based in Sydney [and Singapore]. Since joining CEG in October 2014, Johnathan has worked on a wide range of regulatory and economic projects, with extensive focus on cost of capital issues as well as competition issues pertaining to mergers.

Johnathan has recently advised the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in its review of the competitiveness of the petrol retail industry. As part of this project, Johnathan carried out a geospatial analysis of how prices across all petrol stations in New South Wales were influenced by geographic factors such as the number of competing brands located within a threshold driving time.

Johnathan holds a Bachelor of a Bachelor of Economics with First Class Honours in Econometrics and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. His Honours research was presented in three conferences before being published in Mathematics and Computers in Simulation.

Johnathan is fluent in English and Mandarin.
