Wouter is a Senior Associate at CEG Europe and is based in the Rotterdam office. He has background in microeconomics and industrial organisation.

Since joining CEG, Wouter contributed to a damage claim of a large retailer in the UK against MasterCard and Visa. He also supported a claim in the damage calculation in a UNICTRAL arbitration between OZE vs Republic of Poland, and a claim for follow-on damage of the European truck cartel.

Prior to joining CEG, he worked at the ACM as an economist for more than two years and was involved in railway and telecom regulations. He contributed to projects related to cost allocation, market-can-bear tests and market monitoring.  He also contributed to the market monitor of the Independent Regulators Group Rail and the European Commission.

During his study, Wouter did an internship at the Chief Economist Office of the Dutch competition authority ACM. He analysed the effect of vertical integration in the live entertainment industry on prices, which he described in his master’s thesis. In his bachelor thesis, Wouter analysed the effect of different types of low price guarantees on prices to determine which low price guarantee would be preferred by firms in specific scenarios.

Wouter holds a Master in Economics and Business, specialising in Industrial Dynamics and Strategy, and a Bachelor in Economics and Business Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is fluent in Dutch and English.
