Ker Zhang


Ker is an Economist working in CEG’s Sydney offices. He has over 5 years’ experience as a professional economist in competition and regulatory matters. Ker has worked with clients in Australia, China, Hong, Kong, New Zealand and Singapore.

Ker has been involved in mergers and acquisitions cases in a range of sectors including, advertising, finance, transportation (rail and aviation) and mining. Ker has conducted economic modelling and advised on the impact of mergers on market competition and contract bidding behaviour. In regulatory framework, Ker has worked with clients in energy and telecommunication sectors in asset valuation and price determination.

Ker holds a PhD in Economics from University of Wisconsin Madison. Prior to joining CEG, Ker was an Assistant Professor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Ker had presented his research at many conferences and universities in Australia, China and the U.S., and served as a referee for various journals.

Ker is fluent in English and Mandarin.
